The Partnership Logo

Welwyn Garden City Town Centre Partnership is a means for local businesses to work together towards a shared vision for the town centre, to maintain and enhance the commercial, social and environmental success of Welwyn Garden City town centre, building upon its unique heritage and strengths to achieve a prosperous town centre offering a diverse range of activities in an attractive clean and safe environment for the enjoyment of the community and visitors alike.

The Partnership provides a platform for people to articulate their views, focuses on the wider issues that concern everyone and make their opinions count. It aims to ensure the continuing prosperity, vitality, viability and attractiveness of Welwyn Garden City town centre.

The long term goal for the Partnership has always been to develop a Business Improvement District (BID). BIDs give local businesses the power to influence changes that will benefit them in their local community.

Improvements may include

- extra safety/security
- cleansing and environmental measures
- improved promotion of the area

Throughout 2016 the Welwyn Garden City Town Centre Partnership will be focusing on the development of a Business Improvement District (BID), if you are interesting in reading more about WGC BID development please visit www.welwyngarden.co.uk/bid which will be updated regularly by the Partnership.

To date, over 100 BIDs have been established across the UK. Visit www.ukbids.org for more information. To compete successfully we must develop a robust Partnership and consider developing a BID in future years.
