London Arc and Hertfordshire Employment Land Review

The Hertfordshire London Arc Jobs Growth and Employment final report sets out future needs (to 2026) for employment floorspace for factories, warehouses and offices in Welwyn Hatfield, Broxbourne, Dacorum, Hertsmere, St Albans, Three Rivers and Watford.

The final report updates the Central Hertfordshire Employment land review interim report. It addresses three questions:

  • What new land, if any, should councils provide for industry, offices and warehousing?
  • What existing employment sites, if any, should be allowed to transfer to other uses (for example, housing)?
  • What other policies, if any, are needed to bring forward land for industry, offices and warehousing?

The study includes a profile of the local economy, analysis of the commercial property market, an assessment of demand and supply and forecasts the demand for land to 2026.

The report was first drafted in 2008 and is based on data available at that time. It does not take account of changes in the economic and property market conditions that have occurred since then.
