Paying your garage rent

Rent is due every Monday for the week ahead and is payable for every week of the year.

You can pay your rent in several ways.

Direct Debit

This is the easiest and most efficient way. You can get a form from any council office, or contact the Garages team for one. You can choose for the payments to be made from your account on either the 1st or 15th of each month.

PayPoint card

This can be used to pay with cash at any PayPoint outlet, at the payment kiosk at the Campus council office or by cash or cheque at the Post Office. If you are unaware of your nearest PayPoint outlet, please use the PayPoint Locator. please be aware that payments made by PayPoint can take up to four working days to show on your garage rent account.

Online

You can pay your garage rent with a debit or credit card using the council's Online Payment Page which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will need your garage tenancy reference number to hand.

By Telephone

You can pay using your debit or credit card 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by telephoning our automated payment line on 01707 357755. You will need your garage tenancy reference number to enter to do this.

Standing Order

This is similar to Direct Debit, but you will need to amend the instructions at your bank whenever your monthly rent charge changes.  

Cheque

If you send us a cheque to pay your rent, please ensure you quote the garage address and your tenancy reference number on the back of it to ensure it credits your garage rent account. You can also pay by cheque using a PayPoint card at a Post Office.

Cash

We can accept cash payments at the payment kiosk at the Campus East office in Welwyn Garden City and you will need your garage tenancy reference number to do this. We are not able to accept cash at our Welwyn Garden City or Hatfield Housing offices and you should not send cash by post.
