Health and safety at work - advice and training
Service Charter for Health and Safety at work
We are responsible for enforcing Health & Safety legislation in about 1500 workplaces. Our team of qualified inspectors makes regular visits to ensure health and safety laws are understood and applied by both employers and their staff. Training courses are available for all staff. Unfortunately work place accidents do still occur and when they happen our officers lead the investigation team. For more information contact us.

Occupational Safety and Health Focused Inspection Days 2004
Over 3 days in September, October and November, 50 targeted occupational safety and health compliance inspections were carried out by Environmental Health staff. The inspections were primarily focussed on how businesses managed risks in relation to workplace transport and the use of dangerous substances (COSHH). Considerable advice was given to duty holders and several enforcement notices were served to remedy defects found during inspection.
