Street Trading Licences

Licences are required for trading or collections that take place in the street.

  • Licence - house to house collection

    A permit is required to undertake a 'house to house' collection, under the House to House Collections Act 1939.

  • Licence - street collection

    It is illegal in this country to hold a Street Collection to collect money or sell articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes without obtaining a Street Collection Licence from the Council, if that collection is to be held 'in a street or public place'. A 'public place' is a 'place where the public has access'.

  • Licence - street trading

    Street Trading is defined as the selling or offering for sale of any article in the street. This includes food such as burgers, kebabs, doughnuts etc. or other things such as household items.
