Key Responsibilities of the Town Centre Manager
A successful Town Centre is vital to every business operating in Welwyn Garden City and to every person who comes here to shop, work and socialise. The Town Centre Manager is employed to help improve Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield Town Centres, and hopes to do as much as she can to ensure that both workers and visitors to the town centres enjoy a pleasant experience.
The Town Centre Manager has a number of responsibilities, including;
- To have town centre forums for retailers and other interested parties in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield to discuss key issues arising in the Town Centres
- To encourage events and activities, which will raise the image of the town and promote it as an attractive, lively place which people will want to visit and return to
- To improve transport, parking, orientation and accessibility
- To create attractive and clean environments, and
- To establish a safe and secure environment for staff and visitors
It is important for the users of the Town Centre to be kept as up to date with developments within the town centre as possible. Town Centre Forum meetings are scheduled throughout the year and a quarterly newsletter will be distributed to local businesses in Welwyn Garden City, to keep them informed of business news, what’s happening in the town centre and any key projects that are planned. Send us your email address to tcm@welhat.gov.uk and we’ll add you to our mailing list.
Equally, it is important that you keep us informed of any issues affecting you or feedback you may have about the town centre.
