Bored young people can again enjoy a kick about on a Friday again thanks to extra funding from Hertfordshire County Council’s Alcohol Harm Reduction.
The Moonlight Football League brings five a side teams together on a Friday evening to play some football at Gosling Sports Park, Welwyn Garden City.
The funding will cover 40 weeks worth of play. Three sessions have been organised so far:
- Friday 21 July – Friday 25 August
- Friday 15 September – Friday 20 October
- Friday 10 November – Friday 15 December
The six week sessions runs like a Grand Prix –there is a weekly league and points are carried over the six week period. Whoever has the most points wins the league.
The scheme is open to 13 to 17 years old and both male and female, or mixed, teams can enter. All a team needs to do is turn up on the evening at 8.30pm at Gosling Sports Park with £7.50 and a completed form available from Gosling Sports Park, Council offices, by contacting Mel Head (Youth Action Worker) 01707 638736 or by clicking onto the link below.
