Following the success of last year’s festival, Welwyn Hatfield Cultural Consortium, one of the lead partnerships of the Welwyn Hatfield Alliance, is co-ordinating its second Summer Cultural Festival, which will take place between Saturday 14 July and Sunday 16 September 2007.

On Saturday 14 July the Cultural Festival gets off to a flying start with the Kaleidoscope Festival at Stanborough Lakes, Welwyn Garden City, which is a great day out for all the family. Later that evening FieldFest 2007– an X-Factor-style night of music from talented local bands – takes place at Campus West, Welwyn Garden City.
The aim of the Summer Cultural Festival is to raise awareness of the range of cultural activities available in the Borough and to raise the profile of Welwyn Hatfield. This high profile Festival brings together the events of local groups in the areas of sport, leisure, art and heritage.
The Cultural Festival leaflet, with details of all the events, can be downloaded here. Alternatively, copies can be picked up from council offices, the University, libraries and sport facilities around the borough from Wednesday 11 July or can be requested by emailing alliance@welhat.gov.uk or calling 01707 357240.
Councillor Ron Wheeler, Chairman of Welwyn Hatfield Alliance’s Cultural Consortium, said: “Thank you to everyone who has been involved in bringing all these fantastic events together. I would like to encourage people to participate in the Cultural Festival – there’s a great range of things going on, so pick up a leaflet and join in the fun!”
