An opportunity to enjoy an evening of good food and entertainment while helping two local good causes is on offer from the first Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield, Councillor John Hawkins.
He is using his annual Civic Dinner as a fundraising event for his nominated charities – Macmillan Cancer Support and the Alzheimer’s Society. “Together we really can make a significant difference to many people’s lives,” says Cllr Hawkins.
The Civic Dinner is the highlight of the Mayor’s social calendar and is supported by many VIPs, including the Mayors and Chairmen of other local authorities.
Cllr Hawkins says the event will not be restricted to dignitaries but is open to everyone: “I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones for what I am sure will be a successful, enjoyable and entertaining evening.“
The event will be held on 3rd March at The Beales Hotel, Hatfield (formerly the Hatfield Lodge Hotel) at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm meal.
Tickets are priced at £38.50 each to include a four-course meal, coffee and fudge. A vegetarian option will be available. Diners will be able to enjoy the music of harpist and singer Geraldine McMahon. After the meal there will be a charity auction and a raffle.
Anyone wishing to attend can purchase tickets or reserve a table by contacting the Mayor’s Office on 01707 357419 as soon as possible.
