This July, Welwyn Hatfield Council are releasing three new handy publications.

Councillor Mark Gilding, Executive Member for Partnerships, Performance and Communications, says: “We want to make sure that local residents get the most out of both their council and the area that they live in. These publications help us to be more accountable to you – as promised in the Corporate Plan – as well as providing useful links to local services and your community.”

Compliments, Comments and Complaints

As part of the Corporate Plan, Welwyn Hatfield Council has promised to be more accountable to residents of the borough. A crucial part of this is knowing what is thought of the services that the council provides and giving as many opportunities as possible to voice any comments or concerns.

So the council has published a Compliments, Comments and Complaints leaflet. The leaflet provides details of how to lodge a comment or complaint and how and when the council will respond. In addition, it gives useful contact details of senior officers within the council and details of other advisory bodies.

The leaflet is available from all council receptions, can be downloaded from the website (www.welhat.gov.uk) or you can call the Contact Centre (01707 357000) and they will provide you with details and fill in the comments form for you over the phone.

New A-Z Guide to Services and Councillors 2006-7

This handy, pocket-sized guide is crammed with useful phone numbers for all local services – both council and others – as well as contact details for all the borough’s councillors. So whether you want to know who to call if you have a gas leak, want to report anti-social behaviour or need to raise an issue with your ward councillor, this leaflet is an indispensable one-stop guide.

The leaflet is available from all council receptions, can be downloaded from the website (www.welhat.gov.uk), or call 01707 357000.
