The Council's new Corporate and Community Plan

The council published its second joint Corporate and Community Plan for the Borough called 'Welwyn Hatfield 2021' in May 2008. This plan replaces our existing Corporate & Community Plan developed with our local partners in 2006-07. By aligning these key documents into one joint plan, we are demonstrating a clear commitment by ourselves and our partners, to deliver on the local needs and priorities you have told us are important in your Borough.

Welwyn Hatfield 2021 represents the road map to our shared future. It shows in detail what we, together with our partners, are going to do over the next few years. We have set ourselves demanding targets because we believe this is the best way to achieve the improvements the people of Welwyn Hatfield expect and deserve. We will regularly use the plan to check progress and to ensure it delivers on the commitments we have made.

Working together in partnership, the council has the potential to significantly improve the quality of life for everyone who lives and works in Welwyn Hatfield. This plan gives us the means to join up local services provided by ourselves and others, and to measure the impact of these services more accurately in the future

Annual Review of the Plan

Each year, the plan will be reviewed to develop the following year's priorities and targets, and to take in to account any changing circumstances An update of all corporate and community targets will be jointly published by the council and the Welwyn Hatfield Alliance in the form of an annual report.

The council's corporate targets are exception reported through internal Performance Clinics which are held on a quarterly basis with the Leader of the Council and the Chief Executive. Community targets are also exception reported by the nine Lead Partnerships which comprise the Welwyn Hatfield Alliance. Under-performing targets or those where remedial action is deemed necessary are agreed at the Council's Performance Clinics and at the Alliance Executive Board.

How we will keep you up to date

We will update you periodically on our joint plan performance in the following ways:
