04/01/08 - Hatfield Town Centre Compulsory Purchase Order approved!
The £100 million redevelopment of Hatfield Town Centre received a boost this New Year when GO East confirmed that the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) and the Road Closure Order (RCO) for the proposed scheme had been approved by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

10/01/2008 - New National Bus Pass Scheme
From 1 April 2008, if you’re 60 or over, or eligible disabled and live in England, you will be entitled to free off-peak travel on local buses anywhere in England. (Off-peak is defined as 9.30am-11pm Monday – Friday and all day weekends and bank holidays.)

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council’s recently constituted Youth Council, which is comprised of pupils aged 12-18 from Monks Walk, Stanborough and Sir Frederick Osborn schools in Welwyn Garden City, and Bishops Hatfield, visited the House of Commons on Tuesday 8 January.
15/01/2008 - Temporary Car Park Closure
Reduced parking will be in place at Moors Walk for four weeks (from 16/01/08) to allow for essential resurfacing and access works to take place. Half of the car park will close for two weeks, followed by a two-week closure of the other half.
