Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council

You are here:

The Mayor

Councillor Kim Langley has been elected the Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council at the Annual Council meeting held on 18 May 2009, for this municipal year. The Deputy Mayor is Councillor Howard Morgan. Here you will find out more about the Mayor and her role in the community.

The Mayor's Charities

Each year the Mayor chooses one or more charities to raise money for during their year of office.

This year the Mayor has chosen:

The Womens Refuge

The Welwyn Hatfield Women's Refuge is a local voluntary agency that provides services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence or abuse. It is an independent organisation run by women, for women and is a full member of the Women's Aid Federation of England.

The Willow Foundation

The Willow Foundation provides special days for 16 to 40 year olds living with life-threatening conditions. It offers the chance to escape the pressures of their daily routine and share quality time with family and/or friends. Every special day is of the young person's choosing - it could involve fulfilling a lifelong dream or it could simply offer an opportunity to bring some much needed normality back into their lives. The charity was founded by ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson and his wife in memory of their daughter. 2009 marks the tenth anniversary of the charity.
