Council selects social landlords

Following a highly competitive and rigorous evaluation process, Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council housing development department has selected a new group of six Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) to form its Preferred Partner Development Group. The preferred partner status will run from 2007 to 2010.

Through the evaluation of a quality questionnaire the Council’s Strategic Housing team considered applicants’ performance, management practice, development strategy, their plans for sustainable homes and communities, Equality, Diversity and BME policies and how these mirrored the Council’s own strategies and corporate promises.

Stacey Brewer, Head of Housing Strategy and Development, said: “This was a substantial piece of work which will ensure the Council has Strategic Partners that will complement and work with us, and bring a wealth of resources and expertise."
