Resident Permit Parking Schemes
Resident Permit Parking Schemes operate in residential areas where high volumes of visitor parking is persistent.
Permits- Permits are only valid for one permit zone.
- Only residents or businesses with an address within the zone are eligible to apply for a permit.
- Residents who hold a disabled blue badge will be eligible for one free resident permit.
- Doctors, health visitors and professional carers attending to residents may apply for a permit.
Vouchers- Vouchers are only valid for one permit zone.
- Only residents with an address within the permit zone are eligible to apply for vouchers.
- Each household may purchase up to 200 Daily visitor vouchers per year.
- People receiving a state pension will be charged half price.
- Disabled blue badge holders who visit residents within a parking permit scheme must display a visitor's voucher during restricted hours.
Applying for Permits or VouchersWe aim to process all permit/voucher application forms within 7 working days. All first time applications for permits or vouchers must be supported by copies of the relevant documents. Do not send original documents through the post. If you do not have access to a photocopier or scanner the reception staff at the Council Offices in Welwyn Garden City will make copies for you. For existing customers who are applying to do the following: - Change vehicle details on a permit*

All applications must be supported by copies of the relevant documents. *If you are changing vehicle details on a permit you must also return the old permit. Parking Services will be unable to process the new permit until the old permit is received. To pay using a debit/credit card, fill in a paper application form and an Officer will call you take the payment. To pay by cheque, fill in a paper application form and post the application form to the Council Offices in Welwyn Garden City. To pay by cash, fill in a paper application form and bring the application form to the Council Offices in Welwyn Garden City.
