ePetitions

The council is always willing to consider petitions from those who live, work or study within the borough.

In addition to the traditional documented petitions, the council now offers electronic petitions through its website. You can request a petition on any topic that you are concerned about. Simply fill out the request form, and the council will open the petition for you.

Petitions that are considered to be vexatious, abusive or otherwise inappropriate will not be accepted. In all other cases we will not amend your petition except with your agreement. We would only do this if the wording is unclear or ambiguous, or to correct errors. In all cases we will contact you to confirm that your petition has been opened or explain why it has not been accepted.

Once opened, the public may register their support for your petition through the website. We will send you the relevant webpage address which you can distribute if you wish.
