Craft Courses and Workshops
A variety of workshops, courses and taster sessions are available in the beautiful setting of Mill Green on subjects as diverse as wood turning, photography, quilting, bee keeping and more. They are all friendly, practical and taught by experts. A programme of FREE craft demonstrations is run on Sundays and some Bank Holiday Mondays throughout the summer months to coincide with the serving of Cream Teas.

Learn from local craftsman Colin Smith about different woods, use a lathe and produce at least one item to take home at the end of the day.

Four Day Course

Following on from our taster course, you can build your skills and also your confidence on our 4 day beginners workshop and take home some beautiful pieces. The course is based in our garage workshop under the expert guidance of Colin Smith, a gifted wood turning craftsman.
Each wood working student will be given instruction on tool maintenance and have the use of their own dedicated lathe throughout the course. Over the four days the students will produce a turned bowl as well as some spindle works in the form of candlesticks or alternative pieces using the same technique.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided as well as all of the equipment and materials.

There has been a watermill at Mill Green for over 1000 years. Become part of its tradition by learning to mill, as many others have done before you here. Invite a friend to join you, enjoy a delicious home made lunch and then bake a loaf of bread with the flour you have made.

This craft has a long tradition of up-cycling old shirts and dresses into heirloom pieces. In this workshop you will make a scented mug rug in the Log Cabin Design using vintage fabrics and lavender.

Willow Plant Support Workshop
|Create some interest and height in your borders - a willow wigwam will support sweet peas or clematis. Suitable for beginners, you will learn simple and useful techniques to make a useful structure for your garden. Wigwam - approx 5′ tall. To allow for preparation of materials please book by 3rd April. Bring a packed lunch and some sharp secateurs, if you have them. Refreshment's will be provided as well as all of the materials.||£75 inc VAT|
Learn to make a beautiful willow dragonfly for you wall or garden in this beginners willow workshop. Hazel Godfrey will teach you techniques for a basic weave, spiral plait, and random weave. To allow for preparation of materials please book by 15th May.

Semi Precious Stones Jewellery Making Workshop

|Learn from tutor Kathryn Parratt how to use fine 'Tiger tail' jewellery wire and crimps with pearls, semi precious stones and Swarovski crystals to make a beautiful 'illusion' style necklace. Find out about different beads and components, tools needed and how to use them, and design tips.|

|From wedding favours to intriguing decorations for the home. Come and join course tutor Rae Fairbairn for a creative day of folding, cutting and glueing, re-using old books, maps and magazines.
