The Boundary Commission for England is reviewing the boundaries of all the Parliamentary Constituencies in England. Under new rules laid down by Parliament, the review will reduce the number of constituencies in England from 533 to 502. The total number of constituencies in the UK will be reduced from 650 to 600. The Eastern region has been allocated 56 constituencies - a reduction of two from the current arrangement. In the sub-region of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire there is a reduction in the proposed allocation from 17 to 16 constituencies.
