Would you like to be consulted on planning policy documents?

If 'yes', we'd encourage you to join the Planning Policy Consultation Database. We will notify you by email whenever we consult on any draft new planning policy document. You will be able to comment on documents online and see other people's comments. The database is held by the council, but is run by an external company (Objective Software). Your details will remain confidential, although your name will be shown next to any comments you make on documents.

Join our online consultation database. To unsubscribe please email Planning Policy.

What documents can I comment on?

Under the new planning system, the council will be preparing several different planning documents. Together, they will make up the Welwyn Hatfield Local Development Framework (LDF). Most of these documents will have at least one round of public consultation and so there will be more consultation taking place than previously, although there will still be periods when no consultation is taking place.

The council must meet certain standards when consulting on its LDF documents. These are set out in our Statement of Community Involvement.

How can I make comments?

Once you have registered, comments can be made online during the consultation period by using our Consultation Portal. The Consultation Portal is also where you can view recent consultation events and associated comments. For a full guide on how to use the Portal please click on 'Site Tour' on the left-hand side of this page.

Advantages of commenting online:
