How to pay your Council TaxPay your council tax onlineOur online payment system is safe and secure. You can view your account online using our self-service portal. Setting up Direct DebitDirect Debit is the most efficient and convenient way to pay Council Tax. Normally, collection will be over ten monthly instalments on the first working day of each month (April to January), but you can opt to pay on a number of different dates and you can also pay weekly if that is more convenient for you.
Paypoint and the Post Office
On making payment your card will be swiped and you will be issued with a printed receipt. There is no charge for using this service. PayPoint offers more places to pay and the convenience of longer opening hours to make payments. There are several PayPoint outlets in the Welwyn Hatfield borough displaying the PayPoint logo. If you would like a PayPoint card or further information please contact us. Telephone paymentYou can pay using your debit or credit card over the telephone by calling 0845 6041064. Standing OrdersIf you would like to pay your Council Tax by standing order, the councils bank details are: HSBC Welwyn Garden City Postal PaymentsPayments by cheque can be sent by post. Please send your instalment sheet if you require a receipt and make your cheque payable to "Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council", quoting your reference number on the back of your cheque. Please do not send cash by post. KioskPayment in cash can be made at a kiosk at the Council Offices, on The Campus, Welwyn Garden City during normal working hours.
