Statement on the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996
Welwyn Hatfield Council has a duty to comply with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. Section 8 of the Asylum and Immigration Act came into effect on 27 January 1997 requiring all employers in the UK to make basic employment checks on every person they intend to employ.
Ensuring compliance
If you are successful in gaining an interview with us, you will have to prove your eligibility for employment by producing documentation to prove your identity.
