Weaving and Spinning Day: Free Event
Mill Green Museum and Mill
Wednesday 6 August from 10.00 - 16.00
Come and see fleece turn to wool using carders, a drop spindle and a spinning wheel. Try it yourself and see if it’s as easy as it looks!
The Mid Herts Guild of Spinners Weavers and Dyers will be on hand to show you all sorts of spinning and weaving, old and new from all round the world. You can even find out how to recycle plastic bags using a peg loom.
See how people used to weave cloth with an accurate replica Roman loom built by local ‘Romans’ Bryan Scott and Jenny Wright.
Children can enjoy making a braid bracelet or a mug mat (small charge for materials)
