Building Control
The Building Control system exists to make sure that buildings are properly designed and constructed so as to ensure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people using them.
The Building Control Division of Welwyn Hatfield Council administers the Building Regulations. The division deals with Building Regulations applications, ensures that the requirements of the Regulations and the Building Act are fulfilled and advises on building works.
Staff are always happy to discuss your proposals or any problems you may have. We recognise that some aspects of the Building Regulations are complex and even determining whether or not permission is required can be complicated.
