The Link Skate Park

The Link skate park is a free to use facility for skateboarders, scooter riders and BMXers in Hatfield town centre.

Hatfield Skate Park design

The skate park is located in one corner of the Link Drive car park. The design and build has been completed by Freestyle Skateparks who have created over 50 similar facilities around the UK.

Placing the facility close to the town centre helps to maximise its use by young people and means it can be easily monitored and maintained. The majority of it is built below ground level and acoustic screening helps to manage noise levels.

Funding
The project to build the new skate park was kick-started with initial funding from the borough council and Hatfield Town Council, with the majority of the funding externally sourced by Groundwork Hertfordshire from The Veolia Environmental Trust, the Lafarge Tarmac Communities Fund and Sport England's Inspired Facilities Fund.

The facility is managed jointly by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Hatfield Town Council.
