In response to concerns voiced by residents, Welwyn Hatfield Council is to hold a meeting with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) to try and resolve the dispute about road adoption in Salisbury Village.
Residents have reported issues that stem from the fact that the roads in Salisbury Village have not yet been adopted by the Highway Authority, which in this case is the county council. Once planning consent has been granted it is down to the Highway Authority (HCC) to agree the adoption programme with the developers.
Councillor John Dean, Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Council, said: “Although at the end of the day responsibility for these issues lie with other bodies, we are happy to take a wider responsibility and encourage the groups involved in this situation to be more pro-active. I hope that the meeting will be a significant step in resolving this situation.”
The meeting will take place in the New Year.
