Cycling Strategy

The ‘nuts and bolts’ of the strategy are found in the policies and action plan sections of the documents below. It is the council’s objective to increase the number of cycle trips in and through the borough, particularly journeys from home to school and work.

Progress & Future Plans

The council has produced two annual progress reports for the cycling strategy. This provides an update on all our actions from the first and second year and maps out the plan for this financial year.

As part of the strategy consultation with members of the cycle forum ranked all our proposed routes. This group still meets and are going to be working on prioritising new routes and existing routes on the list.
