There has been a watermill on this site for nearly 1000 years.

We mill around two tonnes of grain a month into 100% wholemeal organic flour. Feel its power as the stones turn to make pure fresh flour the traditional way.

See the water wheel turning and get close to the majestic wooden machinery in all its glory.

Milling hours are subject to the demand for flour and river conditions and as a result may be longer or shorter than the hours advertised. However, our milling hours are usually;

  • Tuesday and Wednesday: 10.30 am - 3.30 pm (stopping for the Miller's lunch break between 12.30 and 1.30pm)
  • Sunday: 2.30 - 4.30pm

If you are making a special trip to see the mill working, we strongly advise that you contact the museum on 01707 357850 on the day of your visit to verify the milling times and avoid disappointment.
