Area 5 is formed of St Albans Road East, a main thoroughfare leading into Hatfield Town Centre. It comprises a residential area to the west and businesses and retail outlets to the East.

Residents are being offered the opportunity to modify their current waiting restrictions. residents have complained of congestion, lack of parking space and obstructive parking. The Council are therefore consulting residents on a number of proposals, including shared use parking bays. They also intend to implement a Verge Protection Order to prevent parking on the footway and verge
