Marissa’s story

Marissa recently joined us and is a Graduate Trainee.

I was drawn to Welwyn Hatfield council from the start as everyone was open and eager to introduce me to the diverse projects of the council. This was something super exciting and the variety of projects, such as a push for new climate change policies, a community awards ceremony and transformation of the council, were all areas I was highly interested in.

 

Since starting my graduate role, I have had numerous opportunities to meet people from all levels and departments, expanding my understanding of local government and really integrating into the council itself. The ability to meet a range of individuals and participate in various training and workshops, such as business writing, networking, and influencing, has allowed me to learn more about myself and the working environment.
