Hosepipe restrictions now in place across Welwyn Hatfield

Affinity Water and Anglian Water have announced hosepipe restrictions (known as a Temporary Use Ban) affecting households across Welwyn Hatfield.

The restrictions have been introduced following prolonged hot and dry weather, which has led to exceptionally high demand for water supplies.

Under the restrictions, you should not use hosepipes for:

  • watering gardens or allotments
  • washing cars
  • cleaning driveways, patios and windows
  • filling swimming pools, paddling pools or hot tubs
  • using jet washers

You can continue to water gardens and grow fruit and vegetables using a watering can or bucket.

Customers on the Priority Services Register (PSR) are exempt from the restrictions. Certain other uses are also exempt.

Please check with your water supplier if you're unsure whether the restrictions apply to you.
