Business Rates Transitional Relief and Premiums if your bill changes due to revaluation
Transitional Relief
Transitional Relief is a scheme which limits how much your bill can change each year as a result of business rates revaluation.
You will get Transitional Relief if your rates go up or down by more than a certain amount.
This means changes to your bill are phased in gradually.
Transitional Supplement
If you do not receive Transitional Relief, you will pay a 1p Transitional Supplement or premium for the 2026/27 financial year only.
This will help to fund the Transitional Relief scheme.
If you do receive Transitional Relief the supplement will still be shown on your bill but will be offset by the Transitional Relief.
It will say on your bill if you receive Transitional Relief or pay a Transitional Supplement.
