The timetable below sets out the next steps and dates for this Community Governance Review.

19 May to 30 June 2026	First public consultation for six weeks.
1 July to 1 September 2026	Consultation responses reviewed by the Community Governance Review Working Group and recommendations for the second public consultation drafted.
16 September 2026	Draft recommendations taken to Full Council.
17 September to 19 November 2026	Second public consultation on draft recommendations for nine weeks.
20 November 2026 to 20 January 2027	Consultation responses reviewed by the Community Governance Review Working Group and final recommendations developed.
1 February 2027	Final recommendations taken to Full Council.
February/March 2027*	Reorganisation Order made (if applicable).
May 2027*	Parish council elections to be held under any new arrangements decided and new Parish Councillors elected to represent Welwyn Garden City (if applicable).
