Why we have a right to access your home
When you sign a Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council secure tenancy, you agree to certain rights and responsibilities set out in your tenancy agreement.
One of these responsibilities is allowing us reasonable access to your home when it is needed.
What your tenancy agreement says
Under the Secure Tenancy Agreement, tenants must allow us access to the property so that we can:
- inspect the condition of the home
- carry out repairs, maintenance or improvements
- complete safety checks required by law
This right of access is part of the terms and conditions you accepted when signing the tenancy.
