Household Energy Payment

The government have announced a Household Energy Payment of a £100 for households in Council Tax bands A to D in England, to help with their energy costs.   

You can check your Council Tax band using our self-service portal.

The payments will be made from January 2027.

If you are eligible and pay your Council Tax by direct debit you do not need to do anything it will be paid directly into your bank account. 

If you do not pay by direct debit we will contact you with details on how to apply.

Nobody other than the council (and our partners Liberata who manage Council Tax payments on our behalf) should get in touch asking you to claim the rebate.
