Make an arrangement to pay Council Tax

If you are having financial difficulties and cannot afford to pay your Council Tax, you should ask for a new payment arrangement.

You should do this as soon as possible.

You can use the online self-service portal to arrange to pay by 12, rather than 10, direct debit installments over the year.

You will need your Council Tax account number and bank details to do this.

*Once logged in go to 'Your Council Tax' and choose the 'Pay by Direct Debit' option.

Your application may be rejected if:

you offer to pay less than £12 a month (depending on the amount you owe)
your arrangement does not clear by the end of the current financial year (March 31)

We will review your application and decide whether you are eligible.
