Our new housing developments are listed below. Some of them include affordable housing.

Developments in Welwyn Garden City

Howlands House

New temporary accommodation block providing a total of 44 units.

It includes:

  • 18 two bedroom units
  • 26 three bedroom units
  • parking
  • hard and soft landscaping
  • refuse and cycle storage
  • designated play area
  • drainage and services infrastructure

 The project is designed to deliver much-needed temporary accommodation while integrating supporting amenities to serve future residents.

Ludwick Green

Ludwick Green will be a three storey building development to replace an existing eight unit social housing flat.

It will provide more accessible, modern housing with improved site layout.

It includes:

  • 14 one bed flats
  • ancillary spaces
  • landscaping works
  • car and cycle parking
  • alterations to the existing site access.

Ludwick Way

Six three bed houses.

90 Peartree Lane

40 one and two bed flats.

Swallowfields

This site was originally used as a factory unit and later a hand carwash.

It was redevloped to offer:

  • 12 one bedroom temporary accommodation units
  • eight one bed flats

The building is energy efficient and provides vital temporary housing.

Developments in Hatfield

Haseldine Meadows

This development will provide five two bed houses and one three bed house for the councils housing stock. 

It replaces a redundant garage/allotment area in a residential setting.

The site area is 0.194 hectares with a gentle slope to the east.

It is accessed directly off Haseldine Meadows and surrounded by existing housing on Haseldine Meadows and Spring Glen.

The garages were demolished in November 2025.

Lockley Crescent

This development replaces a redundant garage site with extra homes for the councils housing stock.

It is accessed from the east of Lockley Crescent and a parcel of council owned land at the south end of Drovers Way and surrounded by houses.

It will provide:

  • three two bed houses
  • one three bed house
  • one one bed bungalow
  • landscaping
  • parking

The garages were demolished in November 2025.

Minster House

This development replaced an old sheltered housing scheme.

It provides 90 high quality one and two bed flats for the over 55s with shared facilities.

 It includes:

  • communal areas
  • amenity space
  • car parking.

Four two bed houses.
