Survey
The online survey was open until Sunday 9 February 2025. The feedback stage was open until Sunday 10 August 2025
Proposals
Advertised 26 November 2025.
Any comments/objections to the proposed parking restrictions need to be submitted in writing by Thursday 18 December 2025 as per instructions on the public notice which can be found in the documents link on the next page.
Double Yellow Lines
Double yellow lines are proposed for introduction at any junctions not already yellow lined, or in areas where this may be required due to safety or access issues. These apply equally to all drivers.
Verge and Footway Prohibition Order (VFPO)
The proposal relates to prohibiting parking on public verges, vehicle crossovers and footways on the following roads, Hollybush Lane between Hunters Way and Howlands, Homestead Lane southern kerbline and Howlands between Chequers and Beehive Lane. This proposed prohibition also covers vehicle crossovers which form part of the public highway and where it is not owned by a property. The public notice will be advertised in the Welwyn Hatfield Times on Wednesday 26 November 2025 which will commence a 21‑day objection period. Public notices will also be placed on lamp columns in the affected roads.

Next steps
Once the objection stage has closed, any objections received will be read, and collated into a report that will be presented to Cabinet Planning and Parking Panel (CPPP) in early 2026, to make a decision on if to introduce the proposals set out. The date of the meeting will be sent to all objectors as well as published on this page.
