Car Parks Parking Consultations

Dog Kennel Lane Car Park

A consultation survey about parking in Dog Kennel Lane Car Park was held Monday 18 August 2025, and closed on Sunday 12 October 2025.

Feedback period

We strongly encourage you comment before the closing date so that we can consider your view in relation to our parking restrictions ideas. Please give us feedback using the form below by Friday 16 January 2026.

Dog Kennel Lane Car Park - Parking consultation feedback form

To make sure everyone’s feedback is recorded accurately and treated fairly, we ask that all responses are submitted in writing using our feedback form.

Why do we use a feedback form?

  • It helps us keep a clear record of what everyone says.
  • It ensures all views are considered equally.
  • It supports the legal process for parking consultations, which requires written responses.

We do not accept verbal feedback or lengthy phone discussions as part of the consultation process. This approach avoids misinterpretation and ensures that all views are documented accurately.

Those who wish to share their ideas or comments should use the official feedback form provided or submit their views in writing.

Suggested parking restrictions

The suggestions below are based on survey responses. We are still seeking feedback to help determine the way forward.

12 permit only parking bays to change to time‑limited bays (suggested after the 4 private bays behind 9-10 Market place)

Suggested restriction: Monday to Saturday, 7am–6pm, maximum free stay of 2 hours (with a 4‑hour no return), available to any member of public to park without needing a permit.

This would lead to a reduction of the number of permit only spaces.

No other changes to the car park -  all other existing restrictions such as permit parking 7am-6pm Monday to Saturday for the remaining bays, loading bay, and disabled bays will remain unchanged.

Next steps

No decisions have been agreed yet. Once all feedback has been reviewed, we will consider any amendments to the suggested restrictions. If appropriate, we may move forward with a formal proposal of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to formally introduce parking restrictions.

A further letter will be sent in early to mid 2026 outlining the next steps and any proposals arising from this consultation.

Further updates will also be available on this webpage.
