Sopers Road

A consultation for parking in Sopers Road, Cuffley began on 27 September 2024. Properties in the road received a letter inviting them to take part in the survey.

The consultation does not extend into other nearby roads such as Station Road or The Meadway, the sole focus being Sopers Road. The intial survey stage closed 24 November 2024.

Survey and feedback response

The survey overall had 8 out of 15 properties (53%)  participation and met our criteria to progress when it has passed 25% response rate. The data provided highlighted there was a level of concern over parking causing access issues. 

A feedback stage followed where initial ideas are set out, as to how potentially parking restrictions in your area could look like in the future. 

Survey data suggests that the below might be beneficial to be introduced in the area. 

Single Yellow Line Mon - Sat 8am - 6:30pm

To propose to maintain only 50m of the existing restrictions (outside Sopers Road Long Stay car park)

Double yellow lines

To propose to replace all of the remaining Single Yellow Line and restrict the rest of the road with Double Yellow Lines. It is noted that each business has off street parking, some currently under-utilised.
Loading and unloading of goods can still occur on yellow lines where required whilst loading is ongoing. 

Sopers Road Plan

A letter outlining the above was sent to businesses on 8 January 2025 to give an opportunity to comment on the proposed way forward. The feedback stage was open until 7 February 2025. 

Update

Based on the review of the responses received a decision not to progress with the scheme has been made due to the feedback received.

This means there will be no changes and the current restrictions – section(s) of Single Yellow Line Mon-Sat 8am to 6:30pm will remain in place, and the parking consultation will be closed.
