Welwyn West Parking Consultation

Background
We received 50 requests over the past 12 years asking us to look into parking issues in this area, we added it to our 2024/26 Works Programme.
A parking consultation survey was conducted from 31 July 2025 to 26 September 2025 and 565 out of 2,225 properties (25.4%) within the consultation area responded.
Based on the survey data and concerns expressed by residents to ward Councillors we are proposing the introduction of the restrictions shown below.
Proposals

Double Yellow Lines
Double yellow lines are being proposed for introduction at junctions on the public highway where they do not already exist. This excludes private roads and locations where junction protection is already in place
Double yellow lines are proposed on junctions in the following roads:
Blakes Way, Broomfield Close, Broomfield Road, Carleton Rise, Church Street, Codicote Road, Cylers Thicket, Dicket Mead, Elmoor Avenue, Elmoor Close, Fulling Mill Lane, Grange Hill, Hawbush Close, Hawbush Rise, Kindersley Close, Lockleys Drive, London Rd, Norman Road, North Ride, Parkside, Roman Way, Saxon Road, St Johns Close, St Mary’s Close, Stuart Road, The Crescent, Tudor Road, Wilga Road, Wilshire Road, Windsor Road, Wingate Gardens and York Way.
Objections and comments
Objections to the proposals should be made in writing via post to Geoff Sampson, Council Offices, The Campus, Welwyn Garden City, Herts AL8 6AE OR by email at parkingservices@welhat.gov.uk by Thursday 4 June 2026 stating the grounds on which they are made. Next steps
Any objections received in relation to the proposals will be considered at a future Cabinet Planning and Parking Panel meeting. The objections received would be presented in a report alongside officer's comments and recommendations.
