Electric vehicle charging

Welwyn Hatfield Council, in conjunction with its provider EB Charging recently introduced 32 charging points across its car parks in the borough and is currently working on expanding the infrastructure even further. Further updates on the locations and the number of chargers will be published in due course.

Electric charging points in Hatfield

  • The Common Multi-Storey car park – 4 electric charging points providing 8 EV charging bays

Pay and display charges and a maximum stay of 4 hours apply during the day. 3 hours free or 4 hours for £3.50 until 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Outside of those hours, a time limit and pay and display charges do not apply.

  • Haldens - 2 electric charging points providing 4 EV charging bays
  • Hollybush - 2 electric charging points providing 4 EV charging bays
  • Moors Walk - 2 electric charging points providing 4 EV charging bays
  • Shoplands - 2 electric charging points providing 4 EV charging bays
  • Westfield - 2 electric charging points providing 4 EV charging bays
  • Woodhall - 2 electric charging points providing 4 EV charging bays

Time limit restrictions displayed in the bays must be followed when parking to charge. A 4 hour time limit applies to vehicles parked charging Monday to Sunday 7am to 7pm. Outside of those hours, a time limit does not apply.

Alternative charge points can be found on Zap Map website or on Zap Map app that can be downloaded from App Store or Google Play.

Government grants for residents and businesses

The government offers grants to support the wider use of electric and hybrid vehicles such as Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme for residents or Electric Vehicle Workplace Charging Scheme for eligible businesses.
