Electric charging points

Eight electric points are availble in The Common Multi-Storey car park.

Charging is limited to 4 hours - a pay and display ticket must also be displayed - 3 hours free or 4 hours for £3.50.

We are working on introducing more points in other public car parks across our borough during 2021/22.

Welwyn Garden City

There are two public on-street electric charging bays. Cars are allowed to park up and charge for to four hours and cannot return within four hours. These restrictions apply 24 hours a day.

They are on Howardsgate in Welwyn Garden City (outside Cote Brasserie)

1 x Connector  13A  -  3.0 kWh

1 x Connector  Type 2  - 3.6 kWh

Parking is free but there are tariffs for the electricity.

Plans for new electric charging points

New charging points are being introduced in conjunction with our provider Electric Blue.

Points will shortly be available in the following Welwyn Garden City car parks:

  • Haldens
  • Hollybush
  • Moors Walk
  • Shoplands
  • Westfield
  • Woodhall

Time limit restrictions displayed in the bays must be followed when parking to charge. A 4 hour time limit applies to vehicles parked charging Monday to Sunday 7am to 7pm. Outside of those hours, a time limit does not apply.

For requests about new on street charging points contact Hertfordshire County Council.
