Report a vehicle parked in contravention

Please note if a vehicle is parked dangerously you should report this to Herts Police.

When to Report

You can report a vehicle if it is parked in breach of local parking restrictions, such as:

  • On yellow lines during restricted hours
  • In a resident permit area without a valid digital permit
  • Vehicle parked more than 50cm from edge of the carriageway
  • Blocking a dropped kerb or driveway (only if the householder requests enforcement)

When We Cannot Act

We cannot issue a Penalty Charge Notice if:

  • There are no parking restrictions in place
  • The issue relates to dangerous or obstructive parking (e.g., on bends) – please contact Hertfordshire Police on 101 for these cases

Before You Call

Please check:

  • Are there signs or road markings showing restrictions?
  • Is the vehicle clearly in contravention?

How to Report

Call us with:

  • Vehicle registration number
  • What parking restriction the vehicle is contravening
  • Location (street name and nearest landmark) & postcode

What Happens Next

  • A Civil Enforcement Officer will attend if available
  • We cannot guarantee immediate attendance
  • No updates are provided after reporting

  • We only act on blocked driveways if the householder requests enforcement
