Northaw and Cuffley Neighbourhood Plan - Regulation 17 Examination

Northaw and Cuffley Parish Council is writing a Neighbourhood Plan. It will affect what can be built, and where, in the Parish Area. The Borough Council invited comments on the submission version of the Northaw and Cuffley Neighbourhood Plan in accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Plan (General) Regulations 2012.

An independent examiner Mr Andrew Ashcroft has been appointed to examine the Neighbourhood Plan.

The Examiner will review the Plan and consider the representations made. Neighbourhood Plan examinations are typically held via written representations. However, oral representations may be heard, in public, if the examiner considers they are needed to ensure adequate examination of an issue or for a person to have a fair chance to put a case.

Details of the examination process can be found in this document.

The examiner has issued a clarification note. This note includes questions directed to Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Northaw and Cuffley Parish Council.  This website will be updated to include the Borough and Parish Councils’ responses to the questions when they have been submitted to the Examiner.

Next Steps

Following the examination, the Examiner will issue his final report. The Borough Council as the Local Planning Authority must then decide what action to take in response to each of the examiner's recommendations, including whether to progress the plan to a referendum.
