Temporary Accommodation Rent in Social Housing Policy Statement

3.1 Within the Councils housing stock, there are a number of units specifically for temporary accommodation to support demands on homelessness. In addition, the council can make use of its general needs stock. The council adopts the following policy principles in relation to the setting of rent in its HRA stock being used for temporary accommodation:

a) Rents will be set at target rent for any HRA property being used for temporary accommodation as outlined in the Rent Standard.

b) Decisions to make use stock for temporary accommodation on a temporary basis will be carefully balanced against general needs, with decisions taken by the Strategic Housing Board (this is a senior officer group, enabling rapid responses the changing demands of services).
