New and replacement bins

This page is about how to order a new or replacement bin and how much it costs.

Most homes should already have a bin, which we provide free of charge.

We recommend marking your bin with your house number and bringing it in as soon as possible after collection.

Replacement bins

If your bin is lost or damaged you can order a replacement.

We usually charge for a replacement bin, unless it was damaged by our crews during collection.

Charges for replacement bins:

  • first standard size replacement bin is £24 (£36 for any other replacements)
  • first larger size replacement bin is £36 (£57 for any other replacements)

If your bin is damaged

If you bin is damaged during collection we will replace it for free.

Request a larger bin

Occasionally we can provide larger black bins if you meet certain requirements.

You will be expected to try using a standard bin first and must be able to demonstrate you are making full use of recycling.

To qualify for a larger bin you must meet one or more of these requirements:

  • have six or more people living permanently at the same property
  • have two or more children in full time nappies
  • have healthcare waste (such as incontinence wear).

If you qualify you can request a larger bin using the link to the online form below.

Please note we will carry out regular reviews and spot checks to make sure you still meet the requirements. If not, the bin will be exchanged for a standard size.

We are not able to provide smaller wheelie bins as they need to be a standard size to fit the lift on our bin lorries.

If you have recently moved in and there are no bins at your home contact us.

You must contact us within 12 weeks of moving in.

New developments

If you live in a new development your management company will need to provide you with new bins. They must meet our requirements.
