Council Tax is a charge on residential properties and is calculated according to your property banding.
Council tax payment bands are calculated based on the value of your property in 1991. There are eight valuation bands ranging from Band A (the lowest) to Band H (the highest).
Council Tax pays for local services provided by ourselves, Hertfordshire County Council, The Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire and the town and parish councils.
We (the borough council) are responsible for the billing, collection and recovery of council tax in the borough. There is one bill for each home. Your bill will vary depending on your valuation band and your location.
