The Welwyn Hatfield Borough Youth Council aims to makes a positive difference in our community and raise awareness about issues that matter to young people.

We work in partnership with many borough and county wide youth services to ensure young people within Welwyn Hatfield have access to the services and support they need. An important part of this is supporting the borough's Youth Council.

Welwyn Hatfield Youth Question Time 2020

The Welwyn Hatfield Youth Council are hosting their first virtual Youth Question Time event as part of UK Parliament Week.


An exciting opportunity for 11-19 year olds that live or are educated in Welwyn Hatfield to ask question to key decision makers on issues that matter to them.

The panel of key decision makers are:

  • PCC David Lloyd - Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire
  • Jo Fisher - Operations Director, Services for Children and Young People
  • Cllr Tony Kingsbury - Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council
  • Simon Mason - Welwyn Hatfield Chief Inspector

The Welwyn Hatfield Youth Council is made up of like minded individuals aged 11-19 who really want to make a positive difference in our community.

Any young person aged 11-19, who lives, works or is educated in Welwyn Hatfield can join the Youth Council and take part in the bi-weekly meetings.
