Independent living (housing with support)

About our sheltered housing service

Our sheltered housing is self-contained accommodation and enables residents to live independently while having access to out of hours attendance and a 24-7 control centre.

Our schemes are usually reserved for people over 60 or those with other support needs such as a disability.

Sheltered Housing Schemes

These schemes are supported by an Independent Living Officer working on site during our office opening hours.

Many have been built especially for older people and have extra facilities such as laundries, guest rooms and communal halls.

Neighbourhood Sheltered Housing Schemes

These schemes are supported by an Independent Living Officer covering a group of flats or bungalows.

They also provide services to homes outside this group.

Some of these schemes also have communal facilities.

Lifeline emergency alarms

The lifeline emergency alarm can connect you to support 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
