We run a low-cost scheme in partnership with Allianz which is open to all our tenants, except those who have rent arrears.
You need to take out your own insurance, to protect your belongings in the event of a fire, theft, vandalism, water damage and other household risks.
What the scheme covers
The low-cost scheme covers most of your household goods and contents, plus the contents of your freezer and stolen keys. The scheme also covers against damage to the fixtures and fittings in your home which you are responsible for under the terms of your tenancy agreement.
The scheme protects against fire, theft, vandalism and water damage. Other benefits include:
- no minimum security requirements
- no excess (you don't pay the first part of a claim)
- freezer contents cover, loss and theft of keys
- weekly payments alongside your rent
- tenant responsibility and improvements cover included.
Cover for accidental damage and contents in sheds and garages can be provided at an additional cost.
The cost and paying premiums
The cost of your premiums will be based on the value of the contents you would like covered. Cover starts from as little as 49p per week for tenants over 60 and 73p per week for tenants under 60.
Premiums are calculated on a weekly basis and can be paid alongside with your rent. All premiums include Insurance Premium Tax at the current rate.
