Haldens Car Park and Shops Parking Consultation

We began this consultation in response to feedback from residents and businesses about the lack of short-term parking near the shops in Hollybush South.

They raised concerns that unrestricted parking may reduce turnover and limit availability for customers.

We then added this location to our 2024–26 Parking Services Works Programme.

We looked into where improvements could be made. We considered if bringing in restrictions could help support local access and businesses.

Parking restrictions

Parking restrictions will start on Monday 23 March 2026. A Traffic Regulation Order has been sealed (approved).

These include:

  • marking out parking bays in front of the shops
  • time-limited parking in approximately half of the bays (particularly near the Nisa end, which is mostly used for short visits)
  • there is maximum stay of two hours, with no return for four hours

The restrictions are in place Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm.

The car park next to this area will not change.

It will still offer:

  • free parking with no time limits
  • the existing Electric Vehicle charging bays, loading bay, and disabled bays

You can view a plan of the new parking restrictions in Haldens.

Next steps

We will review the restrictions after three months.

The review period to provide comments on the new restrictions will be open from 23 June 2026 to 23 September 2026.

Please use the following link from 23 June to access the feedback form: Haldens Shops parking review form

The feedback received will be assessed to determine whether any further adjustments to the parking restrictions are required, and may result in additional consultation. All responses will be reviewed once the review period has closed. However, they will not be acknowledged on an individual basis, and we do not proactively respond to each comment received. All feedback will be recorded and carefully considered.
